This menu displays a list of languages available in the CAPI Designer for the currently selected instrument. The Designer can support English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Vietnamese, Polish, Korean, Russian, Tagalog, and Arabic. English is the default primary language. If a language is not available it will be 'grayed-out' in the list.
If the user tries to select an alternate language from the menu that has not been set up as a secondary language, a message will appear to that effect. To add another alternate language to an instrument, a user must have "Super User" privileges. To have an alternate language added to an instrument, please contact a member of the Designer group.

When the user clicks on one of the available languages in this menu's list, the translation window below will open displaying the portion of the instrument that was selected in the instrument's tree. This display facilitates textual translation unencumbered with all the extraneous question fields. To navigate from question to question, use the tree to the left and select a question or use one of the arrows at the top of the display. When the translation window opens both the primary language and alternate language text fields are displayed together in the window. If there is text in the alternate language, it will display. If there is no text, the translator may beging typing the translation of what appears in the top pane. This simultaneous display facilitates translation from one language to another.
Several buttons also appear in the translation window above: Reports, Tranlation, Copy, and Media.

If the user needs to check the alternate language text field of a particular question, the currently displayed question's text may be accessed by simply clicking on the Another Language? button when a question is displayed in Design mode. The Another Language? button is located just above the right corner of the Question Text field. Just above the left corner of the Question Text field is the field's label "Question Text: " and following the colon (:) is the currently displayed language for the Text field. When a user clicks on the Another Language? button a drop-down menu appears listing the currently available languages for an instrument. To check the alternate language text field, click on the desired language. When the user clicks on the desired language, the "Question Text: " label displays the chosen language's text field, but does not display the text of the original language.
Suppose "Spanish" was selected in the image above ... the following would appear. Note how the Spanish question text displays in the place of the the primary language's question text.
