The Search menu allows the user to run a variety of searches.
From the Find In screen, cut/copy/paste functions are available for all the text fields (not combo boxes) by right-clicking the mouse . Windows shortcuts, Ctrl-x for cut, Ctrl-c for copy, and Ctrl-v for paste may also be used.
To find the instrument id number, right-click on an instrument, choose Properties, and the instrument Message box show below will appear with information about the instrument.
The user may also select Personal Queries to be run (radio button in the left panel) by selecting the radio button. Saved personal queries will appear and can be run like common queries. If a personal query does not exist a user may create one. See discussion below.
To create a Personal Queries, click on one of the Common Queries that most closely approximates the personal queries to be created. The SQL statement will appear. Save the query (Save SQL as... button) and give it a unique name as shown in the dialogue box in the foreground below. Click OK. Switch from the Common Queries to the Personal Queries by clicking on the radio button and the new query's name will appear in the list. When it is selected its SQL will appear under the SQL Statement tab and it may then be altered to meet the user's needs. After the the SQL has been altered, it can be run by clicking on the Go button. The results will be displayed under the Result Set tab. The results may be saved under the tab.
