Moving from one question to another can be done in one of several ways depending on whether the question to move to is contiguous with the current question or in the same section node.
| hierarchy tree | Single-click a question node on the left side of the hierarchy tree; | |
![]() | Single-click a navigation button. These buttons allow the user to move to the first question in the section; backward and forward from one contiguous question to another in the same section, and to the last question in the section, respectively;
![]() | Choose a question from the search 'combo box' (drop-down box). It will allow you to go to any question within the instrument non-sequentially;
![]() | Click either the Back or Forward buttons at the extreme left of the tool bar. Clicking the Back button will bring you back to the section (__??) node you just visited previously (not necessarily a question node though). These buttons allow you to go back/forward sequentially through the previous nodes. Note: There are two drop-down lists by the Back/Forward buttons. You can use these drop-down queues to go to nodes non-sequentially that you visited previously. |
![]() | Click the New template button in the tool bar ; or
| File menu | Use the menu command: File | New | Question | ... |
You must then select a question type in order to bring up the right question template.
If you are viewing a question before you bring up the new question template, the new question will be inserted after the question being viewed. If you are viewing a section node before you bring up the new question template, the new question will become the first question in the selected section.
