HOW WILL YOU USE THIS INFORMATION
Your answers are completely confidential and will be used in academic research into the affordability, availability, and desirability of various types of housing in Ohio. Results from the survey will also be used by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency to help develop policies that will improve the quality and availability of affordable housing statewide.
WHEN IS THIS STUDY GOING TO BE PUBLISHED?
I am not sure when the results of this study will be published because interviews are still going on. The answers that you and other survey participants provide, however, will only be made available after all personally identifiable information has been removed.

This call is being recorded for quality control purposes. The only people with access to the recorded calls will be the research team responsible for the study, and your responses will be kept absolutely confidential.

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer any direct compensation for your time. However, the answers you provide will help OHFA and its partners in private industry develop higher-quality, more affordable housing in your community and across the state.
WHY DO YOU NEED TO KNOW SUCH PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT ME?
There are two main reasons. First, we want to make sure that the people we're surveying are reflective of the state as a whole so that our data are useful. Second, we want to know if certain housing issues have a bigger impact for people who live in a certain area, are a particular race or ethnicity, have a particular kind of financial burden, and so forth.

I understand. However, most of the questions on your finances/health/living arrangements/etc. are very general in nature, and there is only one section of the survey that focuses on your personal financial/health/living/etc. situation. If you are uncomfortable answering any of the questions, you can skip that question and we'll move on.
HOW CAN I BE SURE MY DATA WILL BE SAFE?
We take the confidentiality and security of your data very seriously, in order to ensure that you are exposed to minimal risk. Any information which would identify you will not be shared with anyone else outside of the research team, and personal identifiers are removed at a secure site at the Ohio State University. Any information you give us will be stored in a secure and encrypted database. Our data handling methods and infrastructure meet the stringent data protection requirements.
WHAT IS THE POINT OF YOUR RESEARCH?
The Ohio Housing Finance Agency commissioned this survey to find out more about the condition and cost of housing, as well as the opinions of Ohioans on a variety of housing-related issues. This information will be used to generate policies that help OHFA and its partners in the private sector to help develop better, more affordable housing in Ohio.
